Wedding Day Breakdown

To help you understand a little of what I do during the day of your wedding, that makes every moment feel like an unforgettable memory, which you can relive over and over.

I made this compact breakdown of what you can expect from me and how I make sure your day will be stress and worry free, so all you need to focus on is the celebrations .

The key moments

Arrival and Setup

  • Upon arriving, I meet with the event planner or key contacts to discuss any last-minute changes. I scout the location, assessing lighting conditions and identifying prime spots for key shots. I set up my equipment, ensuring I’m ready for the first moments.

Morning: Preparations

Capturing Preparations

  • I start with candid shots of the preparations. For a wedding, this includes capturing the bride and groom getting ready, detail shots of the dress, rings, and personal items.

Once all of this is done, I move to the detail shots as they are crucial for storytelling. I take close-ups of decor, invitations, flowers, and other significant elements that contribute to the event’s ambiance.

Late Morning: Key Moments and Ceremonies

Pre-Ceremony Events

  • I cover any pre-ceremony rituals or activities. For weddings, this might include first looks, family interactions, and guest arrivals. I focus on candid moments, expressions, and interactions.

Ceremony

  • As the main ceremony begins, I capture the significant moments, ensuring I am non-intrusive yet effectively documenting the event. This includes the procession, vows, ring exchange, and the first kiss. I do this whilst also capturing photos of the wedding guests during the ceremony to help express the emotions not only you as a couple will share, but also the joy your marriage brings to everyone else.

Afternoon: Formal Portraits and Reception

Formal Portraits

  • After the ceremony at some point, depending on how you decide to plan your time, it will be time for some formal portraits. This can be with family, friends, or specific groups. Usually, we will arrange and direct everyone for posed shots, ensuring proper lighting and composition, but what’s most important is just to have fun. I like to say instead of focusing on taking a normal group photo, just be yourself, mess around and have fun! This way the usual group photo will be a lot more comfortable for someone who doesn’t like their photo taken, and the picture will be more authentic and they will be a lot more memorable for everyone involved.

Travel to Reception Venue

  • If the reception is at a different location, I travel there, taking quick breaks to recharge my equipment and myself as well as take time to scout the location once more, planning ahead for more photos. I usually also take this time to document the location include every little detail, such as special decors, table settings and anything that tells your story before any guests arrive.

Guest Arrivals

  • As guests arrive, I take candid shots, capturing the joy and excitement of everyone attending the wedding. I focus on interactions, laughter, and candid expressions, anything that will be a memory to cherish for everyone.

Dinner and Toasts

  • During dinner, I capture speeches, toasts, and reactions, navigating the room discreetly to make sure I capture genuine moments, and that every photo feels like a natural moment frozen in time.

Special Dances

  • Key moments like the first dance, parent dances, and other special dances are always documented.

Night: Final Celebrations and Departure

Candid Celebrations

  • I continue to capture the event’s energy, focusing on candid shots of guests dancing, laughing, and celebrating.

Last Celebrations

  • As the event winds down, I capture final moments like the bouquet toss, cake cutting, or any special closing traditions. Of course, all weddings differ on when let’s say the cake might be cut, or the bouquet will be tossed, but what will always stay the same is that I will always document the most genuine and memorable photos that will reflect your wedding day.

Overall, throughout the day, I balance technical skills with creativity, capturing both planned and spontaneous moments that will tell the complete story of your wedding in a way that every picture will feel like as if you were experiencing that moment for a second time.
